Mobile Testing Laboratories

Capabilities

Testing Vans
SEAS utilizes full size vans as mobile laboratories.  The cargo area contains test equipment, tools, sample lines and electrical cords.  The vans may hold up to 6 test team members, and there are custom storage containers on the roof for probes as well as racks to hold extra equipment. These testing units are commonly employed for isokinetic testing and wet chemical methods.

Mobile Trailers   Trailer.gif (20680 bytes)
Based on a 30 foot trailer and pulled by a separate, specially modified Testing Van with towing package, this mobile laboratory offers all of the capabilities of the Testing Van platform.

The van may be unhitched from the trailer to serve the test crew as local transport.   The trailer body contains hundreds of feet of heated teflon sampling line, analytical instruments connected to a computer based data acquisition system for real time observation of source operating parameters, and EPA Protocol 1 Calibration Standard Gases coupled to a sample and calibration manifold system.

All ancillary equipment (vacuum pumps, stack gas conditioners, heaters, air compressors, etc.) are housed within the trailer as well.

The proprietary onboard computer data acquisition system displays and records concentrations and mass emission rates in engineering units that correspond to the applicable standards in real time charts and tables, and transfer the data directly to Microsoft Excel for on-site report generation.
